Standard Contracts for the UK Offshore Oil & Gas Industry

The Standard Contracts for the UK Offshore Oil and Gas Industry (formerly CRINE contracts) have been developed by the Standard Contracts Committee and are issued by LOGIC for use within the industry between clients and their contractors.

Key points:

Standardisation of contracts was an original objective in the 1990s to help simplify the industry's procedures and to save cost. This has been carried forward into the work of PILOT via the Progressing Partnership Workgroup (PPWG).
In the 2001 UKOOA survey of usage, over 95% of senior oil company managers said they supported the principles of Standard Contracts.
In 2000, approximately 70% of the contracts let on the UKCS are estimated to have used the Standard Contracts as their model.
PPWG fully endorsed the use of Standard Contracts within the supply chain. The code of practice has been signed by 30+ Operators and 50+ key Contractor.
